The roof is where heat escapes fastest, and where insulation delivers the greatest benefit.

Warm air rises, and in an inadequately insulated home that heat disappears through the roof to the outside. Roof insulation is therefore often the first measure that makes sense: nowhere is heat loss as great as there. Those who insulate their roof keep the heat in during winter and the heat out during summer.
When determining the approach, we look at your roof type, the existing construction and whether your attic is inhabited. A pitched roof requires a different solution from a flat roof, and an inhabited attic a different one from a cold attic that you use only for storage.
In a home without good insulation, a significant proportion of the heat is lost through the roof. That is precisely why roof insulation usually delivers the most comfort per euro invested. You heat less against the outside air and your living space feels more even.
Besides the comfort, you also notice the effect in cold spots and draughts that disappear. How much you save on your energy consumption depends on your home, your current insulation and your heating habits, so that figure differs from house to house.
For a pitched roof with a habitable loft, we usually insulate between and under the roof rafters, on the inside. If the loft is uninhabited, insulating the loft floor is often the simplest and most effective choice, because you then shield off the heated space below.
For a flat roof, insulation is generally applied along the outside, on top of the existing structure. Which method suits your roof, and which insulation thickness is worthwhile, we determine after an on site inspection.
For roof insulation, grants may be available in Flanders, but the conditions, amounts and the range on offer change from year to year and depend on your situation. We therefore do not quote a fixed amount or offer any guarantee: what applies to you depends on your home, the installation and the rules in force at the time of your application.
We do, however, point you to the channels where you can find the current conditions, and we make sure the installation meets what is generally required, such as a minimum insulation value. That way you keep the chance of a grant open, without us promising an amount we cannot deliver.
We assess your roof type and attic and recommend the insulation that suits your home. Request a no-obligation tailored quote.
