Inverter
The inverter converts the energy from your panels into usable electricity. The right choice and installation help determine how your system performs.
Solar panels produce direct current, but your home runs on alternating current. The inverter makes that conversion and at the same time controls how your installation performs. As the heart of your solar installation, the inverter therefore deserves a well considered choice.
In Flanders the reversing meter has been phased out. If you have a digital meter, it no longer runs backwards when solar panels feed electricity into the grid. As a result, the energy you generate in excess during the day earns you much less than it used to.
That is precisely why self-consumption is becoming more important. With a home battery you store your surplus and use it later, instead of feeding it into the grid for a low rate. The capacity tariff also rewards more even consumption, which a battery or smart control can help absorb.
How much you actually gain depends on your consumption, your installation and energy prices. We do not promise a fixed amount, but we will honestly calculate what is realistic in your situation.
An inverter does not last forever. Error messages, failure or a clearly lower yield can indicate a problem. Anyone wanting to expand their installation with a battery also sometimes runs into an inverter that is not equipped for it.
We assess whether repairing, replacing or adjusting is the best choice, and take into account what you may want to add later.
The inverter has to match your panels and your plans, not just today's situation.
If you want a battery later on, we take that into account when making the choice.
We make sure you can keep track of the yield and how it is performing.
